History

December 3rd, 2008 |

In 2002, several constituent groups, including family members and friends of persecuted Falun Gong practitioners, as well as people and organizations that are concerned about the human rights violations towards Falun Gong practitioners in China, have united to form GMR.

Ever since then, GMR has been focused on activities:

  1. Raise worldwide awareness of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and break the information blockage in China.
    • Collect, document and provide information on individual cases. Develop and maintain the accessible database and the website: www.GlobalRescue.net and a series of affiliate websites
    • Distribute information about the persecution against Falun Gong to the public, media, international human rights groups, and people inside China.
  2. Provide assistance to Falun Gong practitioners in their efforts to end the persecution and regain their freedom of belief and practice in China.
    • Cooperate with other human right organizations to launch international campaigns such as “Family Rescue Campaign,” “University Alumni Rescue Campaign”, “Women and Children Rescue Campaign,” etc.
    • Work with the United Nations, governments, and non-governmental organizations and provide assistance and legal services to Falun Gong practitioners who have managed to leave China.
