1. Please Help Rescue Our Moms Detained in Chinese Labor Camps

We, daughters of four mothers who are being detained in Chinese labor camp and prison for their belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, undersigned, urgently and respectfully request your assistance in obtaining their release.

Our moms are being detained solely because they practice Falun Gong which is legal and respected everywhere in the world except China. They are forced to do slave labor and are subject to cruel brainwashing and all kinds of physical and psychological torture. They are:

  • Jinhua Ma, 56, illegally sentenced to one-year labor camp in Anhui Province;
  • Chunyan Wang, 54, illegally sentenced to 5-year-prison in Liaoning Province, second time in prison;
  • Junping Cao, 51, illegally detained in Shandong Province;
  • Yahui Jia, 35, illegally sentenced to one-year labor camp in Liaoning Province.

We, four daughters are:

Joanna Maqiong Wang, California; Ping Yu, California; Jin Pang, Missouri; and Zhishuo Zhang, New York.

We miss our moms so much and are worried sick about their safety. Please extend your hands to help rescue our moms. Your voice can make a difference and can contribute to end this 9-year-long persecution by the Chinese communist regime.

We also appreciate GMR’s great help in coordinating this national petition effort.

Sincerely yours,

Joanna Wang, Ping Yu, Jin Pang, Zhishuo Zhang

Over nearly seven years, Falun Gong practitioners have been persistent in exposing this unprecedented persecution, in a very dangerous environment and despite the CCP’s tight control on the media and the Internet. They have been calling for justice and support from the world community. While more and more people and international organizations inside and outside China have joined the effort to end the abuse and murder, and condemn the persecution, the response is weak in contrast to the escalating atrocities of the CCP.

Our solemn promise of “Never Again” made 60 years ago in response to the Nazi concentration camps still echoes in the civilized world, and yet similar tragedies are happening again amidst our silence. The genocides in Rwanda and Darfur are GMR Logotragic examples. Today, globalization has brought the international community together as one large family. We depend closely on each other for existence. The persecution of Falun Gong and the exposure of the unforgivable crimes occurring within the concentration camps like Sujiatun, in the world’s most populous country, are the heaviest blows to humanity and modern civilization.

The international community has a chance, today, to make a difference to stop the pattern of killing. We cannot remain silent when faced with a tyrannical communist regime that is exhausting the nation’s resources to exterminate good people.  We have no reason to stay silent; if we do, we condone the regime’s actions and become unwitting participants in persecution. Dear Friends:

On June 8, Vancouver Mayor Sam Sullivan ordered local Falun Gong practitioners to dismantle the appeal site they’ve maintained outside the Chinese Consulate 24/7, rain or shine, for the past five years. Mayor Sullivan said the group’s signs and booth erected by the consulate contravene a city bylaw.

The Falun Gong practitioners say they were initially given verbal permission to hold a constant vigil at the site in order to raise awareness of the persecution against Falun Gong in China, now in its seventh year. They say the site bears witness to the thousands of practitioners who have been tortured and killed as a result of the persecution, and believe they should be allowed to remain until the persecution comes to an end.

We are writing to ask for your support by signing the online petition at www.globalrescue.net/van.htm . It would also be very helpful and much appreciated if you would write a letter to Mayor Sullivan asking him to re-think his stance on the bylaw, as the site is not a safety hazard, and previous city councils were not averse to it. Letters should be sent by Friday, June 16 which is the date the site is to be dismantled.

However, “Protesters defy order to tear down 5-year vigil site: ‘This is a matter of freedom of expression, ‘ Falun Gong group’s lawyer says”.
